Cheri Belkowitz is an attorney licensed in Virginia and Washington, D. C. She is a zealous advocate for children and their families in all school-related matters, including special education, disciplinary actions, bullying cases, restraint and seclusion, and transitioning out of public school. Her firm, Belkowitz Law, PLLC, is located in Fairfax and has represented families all over Virginia. Cheri is active in the special needs community, serving as Chair of the Fairfax County Public Schools ("FCPS") Advisory Committee for Students with Disabilities, a Director on the Board of The Arc of Northern Virginia, a member of the FCPS Equity Stakeholders Committee, a member of the FCPS Restraint and Seclusion Task Force, and a member of the Special Needs Committee of JCCNV. She also volunteers as an attorney guide for the Fairfax Law Foundation's Eighth Grade Courthouse Tour and Mock Trial. She grew up in Livingston, New Jersey, and she graduated cum laude from Brandeis University and magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. She lives in Fairfax Station, and she and her husband have three children.
