Personal Bio: 

Mr. Underhill is a 1999 graduate of Penn State and a 2006 graduate of Widener Law Commonwealth in Harrisburg, PA. He has been practicing law for over 10 years and during that time has made hundreds of court appearances and litigated more than 50 trials. As a solo practicing attorney Mr. Underhill served as a Township Solicitor, an Orphans’ Court Counsel, a Children & Youth Parent’s Attorney and Guardian Ad Litem for foster children in 5 different counties. He ran the Widener Veterans Law clinic from 2007-2010. His interest in public service work dates back to before law school but his experiences at the veterans law clinic greatly enhanced his passion for community service. He founded the Dauphin County Bar Association’s (DCBA) Disabled Veterans Lawyer Referral Service in 2013 and served as the director of the program until October 2016. He was the 2015 Dauphin County, Pennsylvania Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year and the 2015 recipient of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Pro Bono award. His current role as the Legal Director for Disability Rights of West Virginia allows him to focus his efforts on serving the needs of all persons with disabilities in the state of WV. His work at DRWV ensures that West Virginians with disabilities have a voice when their human and legal rights are challenged. Mr. Underhill live in Saint Albans, WV with his wife and two sons. He enjoys family time, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
