Disability Rights Bar Association

Membership Dues Payment 2026

The Disability Rights Bar Association (DRBA) provides an important set of services for its members, most notably by organizing the largest and most active community of disability rights lawyers who practice in a range of settings. These services are made possible through the annual fees of our members.

Membership fees for the 2026 calendar year are due by March 15, 2026. Failure to select a tier will result in removal from DRBA, including the listserv.

Subscription Tiers

The Disability Rights Bar Association offers a tiered membership model designed to promote equity, access, and sustainability across our community of legal professionals and law students. Members are invited to select the tier that best reflects their financial circumstances and sources of support.

Sustaining tier: $200

  • This tier recognizes that some individuals and employers have greater access to financial resources and support, and may be able to contribute a higher amount to support our organization. Memberships at this level help us subsidize costs for members who are unable to pay at the supporter tier (true cost).
  • If your employer is paying for your membership and has comfortable access to significant financial resources, we encourage them to consider paying at this tier. If your sponsoring employer is paying for multiple memberships or would like to make a greater contribution than the highest tier, we encourage organizational sponsorship instead of paying for membership.

Supporter tier: $120

  • This tier recognizes the true cost of membership, with an adjustment to account for increased costs of operations both due to inflation and due to our organizational transition to independent 501(c)(3) status. If your employer is paying for your membership, we encourage them to consider paying at least at this tier.

Community tier: $65

  • This tier recognizes that there are many people who are able to pay some amount toward the cost of membership, but cannot comfortably afford the true cost for a wide range of reasons. These reasons could include, among others, extra costs of living with a disability; student loan burden; childcare, eldercare, or other caregiving costs; cost of living in a high-expense locale; retirement with fixed, limited, or no active income; or income below industry standard for one’s years of experience. These members of our community still deserve to be connected with DRBA and should be able to contribute an amount that they can comfortably pay.

Scholarship tier: $0

  • This tier recognizes that any cost is too great a barrier for some of our members, especially those who are marginalized and very low-income or no-income, but that these members of our community of legal professionals and law students still deserve to be connected with DRBA.

There are two ways to pay the annual membership fee:
